The Coated Steel business of Tata BlueScope Steel supplies 55% Al-Zn Alloy metallic coated and pre-painted steel products under the brand names ZINCALUME® steel and COLORBOND® steel. Its state-of-art manufacturing plant at Jamshedpur has an annual metal coating capacity of 250,000 tonne and pre-painting capacity of 150,000 tonne.

The coated steel business supplies Al-Zn Alloy coated steel (Pre-Painted and Bare) to PEB (Pre-Engineer Buildings) and roll formers. The steel roofing market includes GC (Corrugated Galvnized - Tin Sheet) steel sheets, PPGI (Pre-Painted Galvanized) and GL (Galvalume) based products. In the hierarchy of quality GL (Galvalume) based products are superior when compared to PPGI and GC. The acceptance of GL is improving with time and GL based products are outpacing the steel roofing and walling market growth.
