The Society for Door Step Schools provides education and support to the often-forgotten children of the pavement and slum dwellers, construction site families and many other underprivileged families. Tata BlueScope Steel as part of its efforts to inculcate reading habits within these marginalized communities supported Door Step School with books and stationary supplies.
The Society for Door Step Schools provides education and support to the often-forgotten children of the pavement and slum dwellers, construction site families and many other underprivileged families. Many of these children are not enrolled in school and have limited access to books and a place to study. Additionally, many of these children are forced to drop out of school to work or care for younger children. With neither support nor resources at home these children too often suffer from very low learning levels. Tata BlueScope Steel as part of its efforts to inculcate reading habits within these marginalized communities supported Door Step School with books and stationary supplies. DSS regularly runs a project named “Grow with Books” in government schools, to enhance reading ability of the children and motivate them to read more.
More than 11000 Kids have atleast one story book to read.
